NFL 2020 schedule: Ranking the top five quarterback matchups, including Tom Brady vs. Drew Brees

The 2020 NFL season is one of the most anticipated ones in recent memory. Thanks to  heading to the after 20 seasons with the , there are plenty of storylines and new rivalries to be formed featuring Brady — and his new team, as he’ll suit up with a talented Tampa Bay offense each week.

Brady changing teams after two decades with the Patriots calls to mind Brett Favre getting traded to the (and later signing with the ) in 2008 and 2009, and Joe Montana getting dealt to the in 1993. Those seasons provided plenty of must-see matchups as two Hall of Fame quarterbacks switched uniforms.

Besides the Brady factor, the NFL is blessed with six active quarterbacks who previously won a league MVP award. Even with still without a new team, the league has plenty of elite quarterbacks who will face off this season.

There are so many elite quarterback matchups in 2020, some worthy ones still weren’t even good enough to make the cut ( vs. , vs. , to name two). Here are the top five quarterback matchups you simply can’t miss this season (circle the dates on your calendar):

1. Tom Brady (Buccaneers) vs. ()

This is arguably the most anticipated quarterback matchup in NFL history, as the league’s most accomplished passers will face off twice a year. Brees ranks No. 1 in NFL history in passing yards (77,416) and touchdowns (547) while Brady is second those categories (74,571 and 541). Brady ranks first in wins by a quarterback (249) while Brees is fourth (171).

For those keeping score at home, that’s 151,987 passing yards, 1,088 touchdowns and 420 wins between Brady and Brees combined. We get to see two of the greatest quarterbacks ever square off twice a year thanks to the Buccaneers and Saints both ked that he would not be able to play the sport today at the highest level.Guardiola was one of the most accomplished defensive midfielders with Barcelona during his career. But he believes the way the game has progressed means that his lack of techniplaying in the NFC South — and one of those matchups is in the first week of the season, to boot. These games probably will determine the division title.

Brady and Brees have faced each other only twice in the last eight years. We’ll get to see them duel twice in nine weeks.

2. (Chiefs) vs. Lamar Jackson ()

The Week 3 matchup between Mahomes and Jackson last year was a classic, despite Jackson not having his best performance (51.2% completion rate, 267 yards, 0 TDs; eight carries, 46 yards, TD). Imagine how this game is going to go down in Baltimore, a year after Jackson took the league by storm in winning league MVP honors and Mahomes won MVP.

Jackson is now a more experienced quarterback for the rematch with Mahomes; and he’s been incredible on the primetime stage (71.2% completion rate, 11 TD, 0 INT; 32 carries, 242 yards, 2 TD). The Chiefs and Ravens combined for 955 yards and 61 points in last year’s Week 3 matchup as Mahomes threw for 374 yards and three touchdowns in the 33-28 Chiefs win.

We also got this play from Jackson (0:45 mark).

This “Monday Night Football” showdown between the last two league MVPs is going to be fun.

3. Tom Brady (Buccaneers) vs. Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs)

Unless the Buccaneers and Chiefs square off in one of the next two Super Bowls, this is probably the last time we’ll see Brady square off against Mahomes (Brady isn’t in the AFC anymore, so duels with Mahomes will come once every four years).

Brady and Mahomes have faced off three times, with two of the matchups resulting in over 68 combined points. Mahomes won the defensive battle last season to get his first win over Brady (Chiefs 23-16) while Brady won both shootouts — including the thrilling 37-31 victory Ousmane Dembele refusing to move to PSG.Last week, Dembele refused to move to PSG as part of a deal to bring Neymar to Barcelona. His agent Moussa Sissoko made that very clear and in the end no exchange happened.Petit defended Dembele when speaking in the 2019 AFC Championship Game.

Mahomes has completed 60.7% of his passes and thrown for 930 yards with eight touchdowns and three INT in three games against the Patriots (102.2 rating) while Brady has has completed 66.1% of passes for 971 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions (88.5 rating).

This is going to be a fun one, especially since Brady has a much better offense than the one he played with last season.

4. () vs. Dak Prescott ()

The annual Wentz-Prescott matchup will be epic once again, as the Eagles and Cowboys are the two best teams in the NFC East and are the clear frontrunners for the division title. Prescott has gotten the better of Wentz over the years with a 4-3 record against him (4-2 in meaningful games), but Wentz and the practice squad of Eagles receivers upset the Cowboys in Week 16 last season for the division title.

For those keeping score at home, Wentz has completed 68.2% of his passes against Dallas, throwing for 1,713 yards, 12 touchdowns to just two interceptions (99.4 rating). Prescott has completed 63.9% of his passes for 1,877 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions against the Eagles (83.5 rating).

This year’s Week 16 showdown will be in Dallas, where the Eagles haven’t beaten the Cowboys since 2017 (and only once in the Doug Pederson era). Dallas also added to its star-studded offense while the Eagles should have back for both contests, not forgetting and what he did in the Week 16 matchup last year (156 total yards, TD).

Expect a shootout in both these games by two of the game’s top 10 quarterbacks, with the division at stake in both contests.

5. () vs. ()

For those who didn’t get to see Murray on the regular in his rookie campaign,s Atletico de Madrid in Saturday lunchtime’s Spanish capital ‘derby at the Santiago Bernabeu. One of the most historic club rivalries in all of world football has become even hotter in recent years. What’s more, this weekend’s game could have a huge s you missed out on a spectacular first season. Murray took the Cardinals offense to new heights and now has an even better offense with in Arizona.

Murray and the Cardinals shocked the Seahawks in Week 16 last season, when Seattle had the No. 1 seed in the NFC and was  locking to clinch home-field advantage. Murray left the game with a hamstring injury, but threw for 118 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 40 yards (the Cardinals had 253 rushing yards in the win). All this happened in Seattle.

Murray became just the third rookie quarterback in  history to throw for 3,000 yards and rush for 500 yards in a season. Expectations are even higher for the Cardinals with all their offseason upgrades, even in a loaded NFC West where the Seahawks are a division title threat every season.

Wilson, meanwhile, was in the league MVP race a season ago. He threw for 4,110 yards, 31 TDs and 5 INTs (106.3 QB rating) and had an even higher rating (110.9) the previous year. Last year against Arizona, Wilson completed 64.4% of his passes for 409 yards and two touchdowns.

Murray squaring off against Wilson will be a fun matchup featuring talented QBs who both are under 6-feet but can make all kinds of special plays. Get ready to see Houdini acts from both quarterbacks.

Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs is a ballhawk who can readily replace Byron Jones: ‘I want interceptions’

Things couldn’t possibly be going any better for the in the 2020 . First, they grabbed a falling — a Consensus All-At has questioned Granit Xhaka’s ability. The Gunners captain fired back at the club’s critics after the loss to Sheffield United on Monday. But Petit thinks Xhaka has failed to deliver on a consistent basis as the club’s leader. He told Paddy Power: “Cmerican and arguably the best wide receiver in the country — with the 17th-overall pick, adding him to an offense . Selecting Lamb meant they had to turn their back on their defensive needs though, namely cornerback, EDGE and safety — but head coach Mike McCarthy made it known fairly quickly he wasn’t concerned. He turned out to be absolutely correct because without needing to move one inch forward of the 51st-overall pick, there was cornerback , who is now heading to Dallas to join Lamb in being yet another jackpot grab for the Cowboys.

Diggs, a First Team All-SEC talent and former wide receiver (which helps him pre-empt routes to a degree traditional defensive backs could only hope for), isn’t simply a player who looks to keep passes from being completed. He’s a hyper-physical DB that can thrive in man coverage but also drop back in zone. The former is where the Cowboys can truly utilwith managerless Arsenal.France Football says Tuchel is being discussed inside Arsenal’s boardroom as they seek to replace Unai Emery after his November 29 dismissal.Tuchel, himself, is under pressure and could be forced out before the end of the seaize his skillset though because Diggs earns his meals in press coverage. A lengthy yet fluid prospect, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound former Alabama star is a nightmare to scheme against on slants, fades and in the red zone.

And when it comes to breaking up passes, well, he’d rather get his head around and take the ball away instead. Diggs reeled in three interceptions in his final season with Roll Tide, and he added a defensive touchdown for good measure.

“I don’t want pass breakups. ,” Diggs said, following his selection by the Cowboys.

For Diggs, landing in Dallas is the culmination of a family dream. His father was a diehard Cowboys fan and while his brother, Stefon, is now with the after having proven himself one of the top wideouts in the league in his time with the — even the elder Diggs is .

And for baby brother, when his phone lit up with a 972 area code, it was all he could do to contain his emotions.

“I was star struck,” Diggs said when the call came in. “That’s Jerry Jones. Words can’t explain it, the feeling when my heart kind of dropped. …My dad was a Cowboys fan before he passed. I’m kind of living out his dream.”

As it stands, the Cowboys are living out theirs as well.

Landing Diggs in the middle of the second round is a fairy tale for them, considering their analytics team told them they had only a one percent chance of seeing it happen. They had a first-round grade on him and were prepared to grab defensive lineman instead, considering Diggs should’ve been long gone before they went on the clock — in their estimation. But much like Lamb still being on the board at 17, the Cowboys found themselves staring at another “blinking light” when it came time to give commissioner Roger Goodell their decision.

They’d wisely opt for Diggs over Gallimore but were fortuitous enough to see Gallimore fall to them with the 82nd-overall pick, which continues their good fortune in the draft.

Resolving the exit of in free agency was not simply key — it was mandatory. Jones is an All-Pro who estabhe lack of aggression within his Tottenham Hotspur squad.Spurs blew a 2-1 lead to lose against Wolves at home on Sunday.Nuno’s side were using tactical fouls to slow down their opponents, a desperate tactic which Mourinho wouldn’t mind seeing from hilished himself as one of the best shutdown corners in the when he was moved to the position full-time in 2018. The one and only knock to Jones’ game was a lack of takeaways, having logged only two interceptions in his career and none in the last two seasons. That’s not an issue the club will see Diggs struggle with, and while he still has room to grow and polish his craft, an elite pass rush up front combines with a potentially stout linebacker corps and an upgraded safety unit (assuming returns to form under McCarthy) to make for a perfect fit for Diggs.

As a longer, more physically imposing corner who dominates when not asked to carry a receiver 40 yards downfield, it’s almost literally a match made in football heaven. The film on Diggs shows far more positives than negatives, and the negatives he has are usually more of the risk-reward variety. For example, because he’s a ballhawk, he looks to jump routes, and that might cost him a time or two. This is why having strong safety play behind him is key, to allow him to employ the aggression the Cowboys thirst for at the position.

And combining him with another ballhawk in should pay off in spades.

All in all, Diggs is a fantastic prospect who could’ve easily been a first-round grab for a CB-needy team, but a run on wide receivers and eventually safeties pushed him to Dallas — the team that fell in love with him early in the pre-draft process. Draft insiders argue that although Jeffrey Okudah and C.J. Henderson are more polished right now, Diggs has the best ball skills of any cornerback who entered draft weekend. That’s not a small compliment by any stretch of the imagination, and he’ll now get a chance to prove them correct on the biggest stage in football. The Cowboys, well, they can Digg it.

Sean Payton confirms quarterback plan for Taysom Hill and Saints in 2020

The anticipated would leave for greener pastures in free agency, making sure they had a backup plan for his departure. New Orleans slapped the first-round tender on Hill, a restricted free agent, basically guaranteeing his return to New Orleans.

Are the Saints going to add another quarterback in free agency? Head coach Sean Payton made sure the No. 2 quarterback job belongs to Hill, a title he elling Dayot Upamecano – and expect to hear from Arsenal again.Kicker says the Gunners offered €60m for Upamecano this past summer – which fell €20m short of the player’s buyout clause and was subsequently turned down. However, there’s now an accehasn’t had in his three years in New Orleans.

“Taysom’s earned this opportunity to be our two,” Payton said . “But he’s also in principle to a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that will increase pay and improve working conditions, reports, /.The five-year deal, which covers the 2020 to 2024 seasons of North American soccer’s top flight, is subject to formal appro earned the opportunity to play and help us win football games as a one. Whether you call him a tight end, a receiver, a specialist, a quarterback, he’s going to play. He’s too good of a football player — he’s one of our better football players.”

An undrafted free agent signed by the Saints in 2017, New Orleans has used Hill as a gadget-type player that can line up at quarterback and add another dimension on offense. Hill has thrown only 13 passes in his three-year career, butre eyeing the Portuguese attacker this summer market.Lille want £25m for Rafael Leao this summer, says Superdeporte.Leao, 20, is on Everton’s shortlist after bagging eight goals in Ligue 1 last term.Valencia and Aston Villa are also interested with has been a force running the ball after receiving the snap and as a pass-catching option for Brees. This past season, Hill had 27 carries for 156 yards (5.8 yards per carry) and 19 catches for 234 yards with seven total touchdowns (six receiving).

Hill was the Saints’ most dynamic offensive weapon in the playoffs, completing his only pass attempt for 50 yards, carrying the ball four times for 50 yards and catching two passes for 25 yards and a touchdown.

While Hill will be the No. 2, the Saints are going to add another quarterback in free agency. Brees and Hill won’t be the only quarterbacks heading into the 2020 season, especially how the Saints use Hill in a variety of roles.

“Because of that, you need a third quarterback dressed on the sideline,” Payton said. “On any play, Taysom can come to the sideline and his finger can be pointed east and west. He’s going to be our second-string quarterback, and obviously play a number of snaps at other positions.

“I think there will be another player who will be up on game days, because of what we want to do with Taysom.”

Eagles at Giants prediction: How to watch, live stream, TV times, odds, how Eagles can clinch NFC East

A month ago, the ‘ chances of winning the NFC East were remote at best … especially after an embarrassing loss to the . Since falling to Miami, the Eagles have rallied to win three consecutive games and take over first place in the NFC East thanks to a huge victory over the in Week 16.

The Eagles have earned a “win and in” scenario heading into the final week of the regular season. All they have to do as beat the , who have won two consecutive games but are still 4-11 on the season. The Giants almost defeated the Eagles in Week 14 as the Philadelphia rallied from a 17-3 halftime deficit to win in overtime and keep its playoff hopes alive. That victory spring boarded the Eagles to their three-game win streak and control of the NFC East.

Philadelphia beating New York is the ideal scenario to win the division, but it’s not the only way the Eagles can go to the playoffs. If the Dallas Cowboys lose to the 3-12 Sunday, the Eagles win the NFC East no matter what they do against the Giants. A Dallas win and Philadelphia loss gives the Cowboys the NFC East by virtue of division record. Dallas would finish 5-1 in the NFC East while Philadelphia would finish 4-2. The Eagles have won six consecutive games against the Giants dating back to November of 2016.

“This is a good football team,” Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said of the Giants. “This defense that we’re playing is a good defense and they have some young guys in the back end and they are playing really well, as well. This is a big defensive line.

“We have a lot on the line. We have the NFC East and we have a possible playoff spot. What we’ve done to this point, does it matter? Yeah it matters, but you know what, it’s about going 1-0 this week and again, putting the hard work and the preparation in to try to win a game, and it’s hard, but our guys will be up for it.”

How to watch

Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019 | 4:25 p.m. ETMetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, NJ) Fox | Stream:

The Eagles revitalized themselves on offense in their fourth quarter comeback victory over the Giants three weeksud to have helped them into another European final.Zola will be on the bench for tonight’s Europa League final against Arsenal. He said, “We played good football, I would say we deserved the final.”I am very happy, we all are, this club counts a lot f ago, relying on to carry the load. Scott, who was called up from the practice squad in October, finally had an opportunity to showcase his talents to the coaching staff. He had 10 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown and six catches for 69 yards in the victory. The Giants struggled to contain Scott in the screen game as he opened up the offense with New York containing (15 carries for 45 yards and four catches for 24 yards) and the Eagles losing No. 1 wide receiver in the first half (Achilles). With the Eagles down to just three healthy wide receivers, had nine catches for 91 .The 45-year-old Austrian joins manager Ralph Hasenhüttl’s staff, in which he will also work as Opposition Analyst, following two years with Chinese Super League side Beijing Sinobo Guoan and an extensive spell in his homeland with Red Bull Salzburgyards and two touchdowns, including the game-tying touchdown with 1:53 left and the game-winning touchdown in overtime. also had four catches for 41 yards, and will be relied upon to carry the team at tight end with Ertz potentially missing the game with a fractured rib and a back injury. went 33 for 50 for 325 yards and two touchdowns. Over the last three games in the fourth quarter/overtime, Wentz has completed 34-of-42 (81.0%) attempts for 352 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 133.3 passer rating, in addition to two comeback drives against the Giants and Redskins.

The Giants have won two consecutive games since blowing the 14-point halftime lead to the Eagles, with the wins coming with two different quarterbacks. led the Giants to a win over the Dolphins, as New York had 36 points and 412 yards (the second game with over 400 yards in 2019). The Giants finished with 138 yards rushing against a bottom five run defense in the Dolphins, but followed that up with a season-high 206 rush yards in a win over the Redskins. The Giants scored a season-high 41 points and put up 552 yards as threw for 352 yards and a career-high five touchdowns while had 279 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown, showing signs he’s 100 percent recovered from a high ankle sprain early in the season. The Giants have averaged 38.5 points and 482 yards per game over the last two games, certainly presenting a problem for the Eagles defense.

“They’re clicking; they have some weapons on offense and they’re clicking over there,” Pederson said. “Defensively it’s the same group of guys we faced a couple weeks ago minus [Saints CB] Janoris [Jenkins], but it’s a good, young secondary; big, physical defensive front. Good against the run and it’s a good test for us. A challenge on both sides of the ball and on special teams.

“I would say right now the way they’re playing is not an indication of their record. They’re playing a lot better than that and it’s a good test for us going into Week 17.”

The Giants offense was shut down in the second half of the Week 14 meeting, allowing the Eagles to come back. New York had just 29 yards in the second half of the loss, averaging 1.3 yards per play and not having a single possession last longer than four plays. The Giants scored zero points in the second half after having 17 points and 226 yards in the first half. Their offense is more explosive with Jones under center.

“He has good mobility,” Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said of Jones. “He runs a little bit more zone reads and option stuff than obviously Eli Manning, and also can scramble, so we have to take care of that. And I think he’s making an effort to get the ball out of his hand a little bit quicker. I think you saw that against Washington last week.

“He certainly gets your attention. He threw for a bunch of yards. He scored a lot of points. He had a lot of touchdown passes last week. So, we’re going to have to play our best on Sunday.”

For the Giants to upset Philadelphia, Barkley will have to have a good day against an Eagles run defense that is seventh in yards per carry (4.0) and third in rush yards allowed (88.0). If Barkley can’t get going, the Giants don’t have much chance to pull off the upset. New York has to feature Barkley more, specifically in the passing game in order to spread the offense out. The Eagles have never faced Jones, and his mobility could be a problem after years of squaring off against Manning. This will be a different Giants offense than three weeks ago.

The Giants allow 7.6 yards per pass (29th in ) and opposing quarterbacks complete 67.05% of their passes (28th), a huge opportunity for Wentz to put them in an early hole. Wentz has been red hot over the last three games, even with the cast of practice squad players and rookies at his disposal. The Eagles over Aston Villa.Son struck twice as he reached 50 and 51 goals in the Premier League.“I’ve scored 50 Premier League goals but without the team, without the supporters, it’s impossible,” the 27-year-old told the club’s website.“I just want to shcan ride Miles Sanders in a variety of ways as he gets better each week. returning will be a huge boost to the ground game in short yardage situations.

Philadelphia could take advantage of a poor New York defense, which is the reason the Giants have just four wins. Changes are coming in New York, but the Eagles have to put the Giants away early.

 Eagles 27, Giants 19

Cowboys’ Kai Forbath ready to make an impact after replacing Brett Maher: ‘Let’s go make some kicks’

Failing to address the issue when they had the chance in April, or even shortly thereafter, the are now hoping against hope they’ve somehow bucked the odds and found a solution to their kicking woes in mid-December. It took missing 10 field goals in his second year with the club for him to finally be dismissed, leaving the team with a 2019 accuracy rate of 66.7 percent, which includes an abysmal 20 percent accuracy between 40-49 yards and 50 percent from 50 yards or more.

Enter , after a successful workout on Monday. Although he lacks the leg strength of his predecessor to boot it from 60 yards out, the 32-year-old does boast a higher career accuracy than Maher across distances, and he most recently went 5 for 6 from 50 yards or greater as a member of the in 2017.

Plot twist cometh.

It’s not Forbath’s first stint with the Cowboys, having been signed as an undrafted free agent in 2011. Sidelined by injury that summer, he was released and the nod was given to a fellow undrafted rookie named , who went on to become a legend in Dallas before being replaced by Maher in 2018. Bailey now takes up residence for the same Vikings that employed Forbath one year prior to Bailey being cut in Dallas.

Forbath’s career took a much differe the end of the season. The 24-year-old makes the switch to the Sky Bet League One side for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign, with The Gills currently sat in 12th place in the table. After joining Wolves in January 2015, Graham had a prominent spent arc after 2011, needless to say, going on to play for six different teams — his last being the — before finding his way back to North Texas, and he’s bringing with him a career accuracy rate of 85.5 percent and a list of valuable lessons learned.

“Yeah, from college to the ,” Forbath said. “You have to take every single day serious and treat it like a game and try to get better every day. When you get complacent and take practice for granted, that’s when things go bad.”

Even if Forbath is flawless from here on out (doubtful in today’s landscape ofness. The Brazilian scored in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield United. And Aubameyang, suspended for the game, posoach Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman’s status has been questioned this season and though Real have enjoyed a mini revival, they stumbled again for Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Atletico Madrid. But amid claims of tension between Zidane and certain players, Couted to social media: “Gabi is gonna be a superstar. Not because of the goal because of the attitude, energy and mindset.”Gabi’s gonna kickers), it will have only resolved one of the many issues holding the Cowboys back from realizing their full potential in 2019. Sitting at 6-7 and barely clinging onto the NFC East lead, they need to fix everything from coaching issues to inconsistent play calling to disheveled play on the field and lack of takeaways if they’re truly going to right the ship and make a possible run into and through the playoffs.

Kicking matters, however, as the Cowboys have recently been reminded time and again. To his credit, Forbath, who’s been around the block, says the workout was more stressful than kicking in the actual game will be.

“It might be more [pressure in the tryout] actually,” he said. “There’s very important people watching you kicking each kick. I told my agent I got through the hard part and now let’s go make some kicks.”

The potentially good news here is the Cowboys will no longer crutch their offense on the belief they can stroll out Maher for a 63-yard kick or a 58-yarder on an opening drive, instead potentially opting to now be more aggressive and push the ball downfield. That’s ideally speaking, but whenever Forbath does take the field for his Cowboys debut on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, the silence he’ll hear will be 100,000 people refusing to breathe until the ball sails through the uprights.

And it he whiffs, it’ll be 100,000 people calling for his head. But hey, no pressure.

2020 NFL Draft: What to know about Jordan Love after Utah State quarterback declares for draft

Utah State quarterback Jordan Love that he was entering the 2020 . If you told us last year that he would be making such an announcement after his 2019 season, that wouldn’t have been much of a revelation. In 2018, Love threw for 3,567 yards, completed 64 percent of his attempts and finished with 32 touchdowns and just six interceptions.

But the past three-and-a-half months barely resembled what we previously saw from Love; he completed 61 percent of his passes for 3,085 yards while throwing 17 touchdowns against 16 interceptions. And the only realistic conversations about Love being a first-round pick in the draft always included the caveat: “He needs to go to a winning team, with a strong coaching staff and a situation where he can sit on the bench for a year and learn behind the current starting quarterback.”

That was basically our explanation for — 30th to the Saints, by the way, an organization that has the infrastructure in place to nurture his development, which should begin on the bench behind Drew Brees and/or Teddy Bridgewater.

So what will an get in Love, whose physical abilities, arm strength and playmaking abilities have drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes?

At various points during the 2019 campaign we saw glimpses of what makes Love so intriguing, starting with his arm strength. The ball explodes out of his hand, and he shows the ability to let it go before the receiver is out of his break, something that will be imperative at the next level. But when Love doesn’t get his feet set, or throws off-balance, his accuracy suffers. And this isn’t to say Love can’t throw on the run — because he can — but when he rushes, usually because he’s under pressure, the resuen harder next season. After winning the Champions League final last night, Klopp revealed he spoke with the Manchester City manager after the initial celebrations.Klopp said: “A second ago I spoke to Pep Guardiola on the phone. Our head physio (Leelts have been mixed.

But there’s still so much to like. Love trusts his arm, even in the face of a heavy pass rush, because he knows he can snap one off to an outlet receiver at the last second. And that arm also allows him to fit the ball in tight spaces, which is especially evident when he’s on time with his delivery.

Love also throws one of the best deep balls in .

And he can make throwing to the sidelines look easy:

But the reality is that for all his physical gifts, Love gets jittery in the pocket at the first sign of pressure — even if it’s not there — then tries to rely on his arm strength to make downfield throws, even when his feet aren’t set.

Yes, a big issue was the lack of playmakers around him this season. A year ago, Ron’Quavion Tarver and Jalen Greene combined for 110 receptions and 14 touchdowns, and was one of the best tight ends in the conference y boss Sean Dyche is backing his attacker Matej Vydra to show his worth in the coming weeks.Vydra came off the bench and got the winning goal for Burnley against Southampton in the Premier League last weekend. He could be involved again if Chris Wood who many folks (us included) thought would get drafted. Darwin Thompson, who was drafted by the Chiefs, rushed for more than 1,000 yards and added another 351 receiving yards.

All those weapons are gone. And that has had a noticeable effect on Utah State’s offense and, more specifically, Love’s productivity. For much of the season he played like someone who knew that he has to do everything. And for much of the season it didn’t go well. Yes, there those were the flashes of brilliance we saw every game, but there were too many miscues toawing Liverpool in the Champions League draw. The 2018 finalists are both in the round of 16, though as defending champions, Liverpool would be clear favourites should they meet again.”If we play Liverpool, we will eliminate them,” said Zidane with a count, which often lead to turnovers, and more importantly, raised questions about his NFL readiness. His 16 interceptions was tied for most among FBS quarterbacks, along with Washington State’s Anthony Gordon.

There was some conversation about Love returning for his senior season, and’s Dan Wetzel that if Love didn’t enter the draft he would consider transferring and Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Houston were all possible destinations.

Love has entered the draft and now he’ll need a strong pre-draft season — and that could include a trip to the Senior Bowl — to convince NFL teams that his first-round talent is indeed worth a first-round selection.
