Over three-quarters of US citizens accept government agencies sharing their data

Most US citizens acknowledge and accept that state and local government agencies share their personal data, even when it comes to personal information such as criminal records and income, according to a new survey conducted by and sponsored by .The survey of nearly 2,000 people across eight states finds that more than three-quarters (77 percent) accept that their data is being shared between government agencies. h Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in recent days.Following a training session on Thursday afternoon, Lacazette posed and smiled with several of his Arsenal team-mates along with the caption “easy win”.The 27-year-old also subtly geotagged the image of What’s more, most citizens believe government agencies are sharing sensitive information, including their social security numbers (60 percent stating they believe this data is being shared), employment status (56 percent), paid income tax (51 percent) and any criminal history (64 percent). However, many respondents express concern about how these agencies are protecting their data and their privacy. The most common concerns are a lack of clarity about how the government would use the data (69 percent), infringement of privacy (68 percent), lack of protection from security breaches, even if accidental (66 percent), an external cyberattack (65 percent) and access to their data by unauthorized government officials (63 percent). Of citizens who expressed concern about at least one type of data sharing, more than half (53 percent) report that they do not trust the government.”While US citizens are aware that government agencies share their personal data with each other and appear to accept that as a fact, our survey results tell us that the government agencies holding this information need to fans flocked to National League Sutton United to see their 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United. The Premier League, EFL and FA announced yesterday that professional football in England was to be put on hold until early April at the very earliest. The decido more to give them confidence their data and their privacy will be protected,” says Shawn Kingsberry, vice president and director, Government Solutions at Unisys. “Agencies can address these concerns through data protection solutions that leverage technologies such as microsegmentation, encryption and dynamic isolation to limit the access to this data by those who are unauthorized to see it.”The results also a show a strong preference for interacting with governmecontent_imgnt agencies online, 88 percent say they prefer using a computer, tablet or mobile phone to engage with government agencies and services. What I like about Apple iPad Pro [fourth in a series]

Day 10, and itnterest from the Premier League.West Ham, Everton and Wolves are all chasing Almeida, reports the Everton-Wolves-Andre-Almeida-Transfer-Scrap-Gossip-News”>Everton-Wolves-Andre-Almeida-Transfer-Scrap-Gossip-News”>Daily Express. The Portuguese champions’s difficult to wonder where nearly two weeks went. Yet here I am with iPad Pro, and more settled than last weekend, when .I want to start by discussing Apple’s , which is a $169 accessory that I recommend for everyone who doesn’t plan on using fingers and Pencil as primary, ah, utensils. Typing is amazingly smooth and accurate. The keys present terrific travel, without requiring too much force while still giving plenty of tactile response. Shocked best describes my reaction to the experience. Sometimes what’s missing brings something more: Ommission of the trackpad, which either is brilliant conception or Apple chief designer Jony Ive and team getting goddamn lucky. By removing all that wasted space given to the trackpad and spread around it, the keyboard is closer to the body and arms, which I find improves posture, reduces stress on the wrists, and increases overall typing accuracy, Something else: Proximity creates intimacy with the tablet you won’t have with a laptop.Additionally, the shorter distance overcomes the great usability flaw with vertical touchscreens: Guerilla Arm, which primary is an aching ailment of the biceps. Reaching to touch the screen is more moving the forearms forward. Had Apple included a touchpad, and thus increased the reaching distance to the screen, Guerilla Arm would surely result (as it does on laptops). By accident or design, what’s missing is something more. The , with 2732 x 2048 native resolution at 264 pixels per inch, is super sharp, while colors and contrast pop off the screen. What I ike best: The 4:3 aspect ratiea-offer-managers-job.html”>Daily MailChelsea-offer-managers-job.html”> says Derby will not stand in his way, provided Chelsea are respectful in their pursuit and pay £4million compensation.Lampard will bring Chelsea academy graduate Jody Morris ando makes the display more square than rectangular, expanding the landscape for content. Webpages and apps present beautifully, with a caveat. Websites stuck in the 1024 x 768 past present oversized everything. The worst offenders render mobile sites only optimized for smaller screens and/or lower resolutions. Meaning: They don’t scale. Same applies to apps, too many of them, that need resolution/scaling tweaking. Are you listening, developers? overall impresses, much as I would expect from an iPad but with greater urgency. If the Pro is to be a PC replacement, not companion, and one without a trackpad, touch needs to be accurate. Where your finger goes the cursor must follow, and it does most of the time. Touch responsiveness is best of class and almost mind-reading.In landscape mode, touch is more content_imgintimate than other iPads, when using Smart Keyboard. Because of the screen’s proximity, I can rest my forearms on the desk and reach most everything necessary primarily using thumbs and also first two fingers. That positioning makes faster the processing of messages in Apple Mail, for example. Other apps, and even general navigation, benefit, too.iPad Pro presents a split-screen view but no windowed apps for multitasking. That said, the aforementioned proximity to the screen makes moving among app icons a fairly fast, and not at all cumbersome, activity. Manually switching apps/tasks isn’t the hardship that I had anticipated. is another stunner. Years of PC-configuration mentality must be put aside before considering the tablet as possible primary personal computer. There’s Apple’s A9 chip, 4GB memory, and 128GB storage set against laptops with Intel Core processors, 8GB (or more) RAM, and as much if not greater SSD. Comparison is less, less, less. But responsiveness is more, more, more. Damn, does this tab feel fast. That said, iOS idiosyncrasies are in place. When resources shift to one thing from another, something is left behind. I learned when leaving browser tabs with text input but not saved to, say, WordPress. Going back to the tab, refreshed it, wiping away my input content. That’s behavior I hadn’t seen on Android tablets, although Chrome OS can idle and refresh browser tabs leading to similar result. That gotcha aside, everything about iPad Pro is perky.Buzzing around my brain:What if Apple bridged its tablet/laptop gap by shipping 12-inch MacBook’s successor with A9 chip instead of Intel Penitum M. The little laptop is mighty speedy for its size and processor class. A9X would differentiate MacBook from every other thin-and-light laptop.Moving along to , a $99 add-on, I’m impressed based on my limited testing, with two caveats: I need to work more with the stylus, and I am no artist; someone who draws would better evaluate the input device. But I recognize the promise, which will get fuller treatment in a follow-up post. For now: iPad Pro presents in its 12.9-inch display a broad canvas upon which artists can draw or annotate.Wrapping up, I’m not in love with iPad Pro, but I like it more each day. Some of the quirks are devastating to the typical workflow that is easily achievable on a laptop. These topics will get fuller treatment later on in this series. As my month with iPad Pro progresses I increasingly see that more can be achieved by adapting habits and accepting the user experience for what it is rather than what it is not. I learned that from seeing the many benefits presented by removing the trackpad and Apple’s design choices doing so, for example. While the tablet has been in my possession for 10 days, I placed the order earlier. February 13th is when I must decide whether to keep iPad Pro, and continue this series, or return within the 14-day buyer’s remorse period. Installment five will reveal which choice I made (or will make). Joe Wilcox

LinkedIn ‘hacking’ tool Sell Hack no longer exposes user email addresses

One of the great things about social networks is that it is possible to connect with people without the need to share email addresses. This means content_imgthat you can remain “friends” with someone on Facebook, but not get to the point where you’re handing out your email address and worrying about checking your inbox. The same is true of LinkedIn, but the difference with this “professional network” is that you’re probably connecting with a larger number of people you would rather didn’t have your personal contact details. This comforting level of security was wiped out by .This free browser extension — available for Firefox, Chrome and Safari — could be used to expose the email address associated with any LinkedIn account, regardless of whether you are connected to the person you are, essentially, spying on. Perhaps understandably, this caused a degree of upset and resulted in LinkedIn sending a cease and desist notice to the extension’s developers. Sell Hack adds a “Hack In” button to social network pages which, when clicked, reveals the email address used by the account owner to create their page. At least this was the case. Sell Hack has bowed to pressure and has that “SellHack plugin no longer works on LinkedIn pages”.uragement over their big-name signing plans this month.Marotta was happy to name-check Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud and Barcelona ace Arturo Vidal when discussing Inter’s hopes for the January market. He said, But it’s far from being all bad news for the team. The media coverage has created a storm of interest, and on 1 April “we had more signups today than in our first 60 days combined”.The post also explains that “we raw with Real Valladolid. The Argentine claimed that some teams used to never have penalties called against them at home and that VAR has made things fairer.”Thomas wanted to touch it and the player put a leg in front, but the truth is I didn’t reallyare building a better product that does not conflict with LinkedIn’s TOS” and anyone signing up for a new account with the service receives an email that says “we received a letter from LinkedIn and decided to suspend the service until we are compliant with their terms of use. Don’t worry, we’re already working on a solution”. To counter claims that Sell Hack is “sneaky, nefarious, no good, not ‘legitimate'”, the developers insist that “we only processed publicly visible data from LinkedIn based on your profile permissions”.For the time being it seems as though Sell Hack has been stopped in its tracks, but it’s unclear how long this will be the case. The level of interest surrounding the story is fascinating — over the past 48 hours there have been countless articles and blog posts about Sell Hack. With Sell Hack’s insistence that it only uses publicly visible data in its analysis, it’s difficult to see quite where all of the upset comes from. Commenters have suggested that LinkedIn is upset because the tool “erodes its business model for LinkedIn premium”.In an email to BetaNews, LinkedIn said: “There were a few news outlets that erroneously reported that premium LinkedIn members get access to email addresses. That is false… There are a number of different premium subscriptions LinkedIn members can get. One of the things premium members get are InMails. [These] are one-to-one messages between LinkedIn members. Those InMails don’t give you anyone’s email address though. The reason we issued Sell Hack a cease and desist was because it was violating our Terms of Service and our User Agreement”.So what do you make of it? Is (or was) Sell Hack really a privacy concern, or has it been stamped upon for potentially stemming a flow of income for LinkedIn?

You may soon be able to sign into Windows 10 with a Google account

At the moment, you have two options when using Windows 10. You can create a local account, or you can use a Microsoft account to sign in. In the future, however, it’s possible that you might also be able to sign in using your Google account details.ChromeStory a on the Chromium Gerrit site which refers to a “Google Credential Provider for Windows.” Microsoft’s provides a little useful background information on credential providers:Credential providers are the primary mechanism for user authentication — they currently are the only method for users to prove their identity which is required for logon and other system authentication scenarios. TomTom upgrades to real-time maps after platform switch to NDS

Malicious Pirate Bay clones scamming pirates

When The Pirate Bay was taken down in late 2014, IsoHunt announced the Open Bay Project, a way for internet users to collaborate and make sure the torrenting service was always available on a domain. Now that The Pirate Bay is back online, it looks like some of these pet projects are being used by hackers as a way to steal users’ bank information. The hackers are using the iFrames plugin for WordPress to embed malicious content on WordPress sites without the current update. The hackers were able to intercept WordPress sites through the SoakSoak cyberattack, which happened last year. It took advantage of the RevSlider plugin and allowed hackers to place a ‘man-in-the-middle’ booter to sit on Windows PC and find banking information. The amount of WordPress sites actively working as part of The Pirate Bay hackers plan isrruabarrena has paid tribute to Jurgen Klopp.Arruabarrena, now coaching in the UAE with FC Shabab Al-Ahli, admits he’s in awe of the work of Klopp at Liverpool. He told Marca: “He is one of the best, like (Pep) Guardiola. “He will always be there, reg unknown, although some security experts claim it is a substantial amount of sites without the latest version of WordPress installed, likely abandoned by the owner. It is one of the downsides of offering a system to every person in the world, someone is going to find out how to add exploits. Your Windows 7 desktop has turned black? Microsoft has a fix on the way… and workarounds in the meantime [Updated]

Windows 7 is dead: you know this. There are no more Windows 7 updates for most people: you know this. And some believe : yeah, rightWhatever the status of Windows 7, the fact of the matter is that there are plenty of people still using it, and the last update (KB4534310) caused a strange problem for some users, turning their desktops black. Microsoft has now acknowledged the issue, but says that it will only fix the bug for those who are willing to pay. That a fix should only be available to Windows 7 users paying for Extended Security Updates (ESU) is no surprise – Microsoft made this quite clear some time ago. But for the last ever update to be made available to all Windows 7 users to cause problems that will never be addressed is… irritating fcontent_imgor those affected — to say the least.Microsoft has said that it will issue a fix for ESU customers, and until this is released next month on Patch Tuesday, it has suggested a workaround that can also be used by non-paying Windows 7 users. The company speaks about the issue in a post on the for Windows 7:After installing , your desktop wallpaper when set to “Stretch” might display as black.Client: Windows 7 SP1Server: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 To mitigate the issue, you can do one of the following:Set your custom image to an option other than “Stretch”, such as “Fill”, “Fit”, “Tile”, or “Center”, orChoose a custom wallpaper that matches the resolution of your desktop. We are working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in mid-February for organizations who have purchased Windows 7 .While non-paying customers may well be hoping that Microsoft will relent and make this fix — and others — available to them, this seem extremely unlikely. HBO GO reaches the living room via Xbox One

HBO GO has been in the news lately, especially when the HBO network that it will be discontinuing its paid cable/satellite service restriction and turn it into a stand-alone service. It’s also now making inroads into the living room — perhaps in preparation for that big move nexcia is confident content_imghis team can bounce back from their first game of the season. The Hornets suffered a disappointing result at home against Brighton last weekend.Including the previous season, Watford have won only two games since March 3.But Gracia bet year. With HBO GO, subscribers can watch the latest episodes from shows like ‘True Detective’, ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Girls’, along with your favorite hits like ‘Entourage’ and ‘The Sopranos’, HBO GO on Xbox One features Kinect voice and gesture control so you can easily search the entire catalog via gestures or voice commands”. The Kinect integration seems to be a key feature, as it will allow for easy control and work with the rest of the new Xbox One controls. That makes entertainment almost a home automation thing. For now, customers will still have to verify a TV subscription, as that won’t change until 2015. But it’s one more selling point that Microsoft has added to an already large entertainment field. The console has certainly become as much about that as it is about gaming. We’ll see where it heads next.

Google Play stats indicate slow HTC One (M8) sales

The One (M8) may very well be the best smartphone that HTC has ever launched. It is made of premium materials, looks great, does not go overboard with software customizations and, on top of that, has received rave reviews, including ones from our and . It, however, looks like the One (M8) is not quite the sales success that HTC has been hoping for.The Google Play stats of the HTC-branded apps designed for the One (M8), that around the time of its official introduction, so far suggest that sales are within the one million mark. Even though this may not be the most accurate way to measure the total unit volume it does not paint a favorable picture. Looking at  we can see that the number of app installs ranges between 500,000 and 1,000,000. , last Friday the range shown by Google Play was 100,000 to 500,000. Even if we consider that there may be One (M8) users who have yet to update the app sin Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard is a target for Arsenal.El Desmarque says Gunners boss Unai Emery wants the Norwegian to replace Mesut Ozil next summer.Odegaard, 20, appears to have finally found his form on-loan with Real Sociedad after years in ce they purchased thave been told to restructure their offer for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.The Sun says Palace have slapped a £45million fee on Wan-Bissaka – the same as Kyle Walker. The England Under-21 right-back will be allowed to join Manchester Unite smartphone, and therefore would likely not contribute towards the Google Play count, sales would not be much higher than 500,000 units. Other apps, like HTC Zoe, reveal the same range. That number is undoubtedly underwhelming for a smartphone that was launched about a month ago and has been so well received by reviewers. HTC has not made an official announcement surcontent_imgrounding the One (M8) sales, and I do not expect the company to do that anytime soon if we consider the aforementioned stats to be accurate. Today, HTC says the One (M8) is selling “quicker” than its predecessor, , however, without providing any sales numbers to eliminate any shred of doubt. Joe Wilcox

OnePlus will launch One successor around mid-2015, ponders smaller devices

By now I am sure that everyone with an interest in smartphones has heard about One Plus and its . It is undoubtedly among the most interesting Android devices launched this year, and one of the most hyped also. How did OnePlus, basically a new player in the mobile space, achieve that? Well, One managed to make a splash in no small part thanks to its $299 entry-level price, which allows it to undercut virtually every known rival, paired with some of the best and most powerful hardware around. That’s a recipe for success in the Android realm, and OnePlus knows it all too well. But, what tops its lovely hardware and the low asking price is that One has never actually been available to the general public, per se. Sure, people have been able to buy One, but they have been able to do so only throucontent_imggh invites. As a way to sell smartphones — commodities, really — that is crazy. But, what is even crazier is that, even as One is still not generally available, OnePlus reveals a launch date for its successor. In a , answering a question regarding the successor of One, OnePlus says that 2, as it is apparently referred to as now, will be available in Q2 or Q3 of 2015. One of the hosts of the Q&A adds that Android L should be running the show on the device (assuming Google doesn’t launch anything newer in the meantime).OnePlus is also pondering launching smartphones that are smaller than One, which is a pretty huge device (152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm, but just 162 grams) thanks to that large display, that would cater to a wider audience, one that is not yet ready to embrace phablets. That does not mean that OnePlus 2 will be a smaller affair, asBrendan Rodgers says Leicester City youngster Harvey Barnes has a “bright future”.The 22-year-old scored twice in Monday’s emphatic 4-0 win over Aston Villa.Rodgers said: “Harvey has got a very bright future. “He’s been getting better, his intensity and hunger to get in and score is what we’ve spoken about, and now he gets in there regularly and he’s getting goals. I’m delighted for him.” it will likely be the company’s next flagship, and these things do not get smaller — they either grow in size or stay the roughly the same, generally speaking. There are no other details at this point, but it is fair to say that OnePlus ions League opponents Manchester City.Real will host City for the first-leg of their round 16 tie on Wednesday night. And Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito, revealed Bale will start – with Isco dropping to the bench. He dwill be doing its best at offering potential customers the top hardware at the time 2 is available. Next year, we should see Qualcomm’s mighty Snapdragon 810, which is 64-bit ready, popping up, and Quad HD displays becoming the norm for new flagships.Of course, by the time 2 is available, I am sure we all hope that OnePlus figures out a way to make it generally available from the get-go, without making prospective buyers go through the ordeal of having to beg, enter contests or do some crazy things to get invites.
